The Merry Berry Spritzer Recipe

This light, fruity cocktail is perfect for the South African summer Christmas – festive, refreshing, and oh-so-easy to make!

Ingredients

1 cup fresh strawberries or raspberries (frozen berries work too!)

1 tablespoon sugar (or to taste)

Juice of 1 lime

250ml sparkling water or soda water

100ml gin or vodka (optional, for a spirited twist)

Ice cubes

Fresh mint leaves and lime slices for garnish

Method

In a blender, combine the berries, sugar, and lime juice. Blend until smooth.

Strain the mixture through a sieve to remove the seeds, if desired.

Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the berry mixture over the ice.

Add the gin or vodka (if using), then top up with sparkling water.

Stir gently and garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lime.

Serve immediately and enjoy!

This cocktail is not only quick to prepare but also versatile. For a non-alcoholic version, simply leave out the gin or vodka. It’s a crowd-pleaser for guests of all ages!
